A Story of Curling my Hair

A Story Of Curling My Hair
(Layered edition!)

*please ignore my face in all of the following photos*

Picture 1: the mid-way crisis
In which I decided that maybe this WASNT my best look anymore.

Pictures 2 and 3: The Result
In which I decided this DEFINITELY wasn't my best look any more.
And my hair is three times bigger than usual.

Pictures 4 and 5: Third-Day Curls
In which I decided that they looked infinitely better after I slept on them- twice.

Maybe next time I'll stick with the flat iron.

Mental Block

I'm really not sure how to say this, but I had somehow developed this mental block that lasted only a couple lessons. It was gymnastics.
I LOVE gymnastics. It was my favorite this to do for a long time. So when my instructor pointed me towards a small gymnastics course, of course I was excited. It was just a bounce to a two stride, all of them about two-foot verticals. No big deal, right? Wrong!
I still really don't know what happened. I do know that it was my fault though. I kept tensing up, looking down, and just generally throwing us off balance.
Sophie tried to jump it once and lost her balance too and ran out on the third jump. Then it was a matter of me not being able to make myself do it. I wasn't scared, but I literally could not just sit up and let my horse do her thing, which is what she likes. So Sophie kept running out, since I was accidentally giving her every opportunity. Finally, the jumps when down to X-rails and I jumped it just fine a couple times. This happened for two lessons, finally ending on a good note in the last one.

Just the other day I tried gymnastics again and it was like none of that ever happened. We did a double bounce to a two stride where the third jump was an oxer- and jumped it perfect every time.

I don't get me, but I'm grateful everyday to have a horse that's gonna watch my back while I'm having bad days.

Today's riding report

I went to see Sophie today! She was fabulous.
I rode with my friend Brook while she had a lesson. It was cold today, so it was a good chance to work bareback. We did lead changes.

After we rode, Lucy and I took Soph and Mickey out back and hand jumped them to get a little work in that area done.

And to walk out, I got back on in my muck boots and little sister's helmet and had her neck reign with only a lead rope on one side.
A happy day.

Natural makeup!

Hey girlies! Today I've got some advice for you: I'm going to teach you how to have a naturally gorgeous face with as little makeup as we can muster!

Step one: Take care of your skin.
This goes for not only your face, but the rest of your body as well. If your arms of legs are pealing, a sugar or salt scrub will do the trick. Always moisturize afterward!
For your face, try to develop a routine for in the mornings and at night. Here's mine:
Morning: Use Neutrogena Acne Scrub in Pink Grapefruit.
Moisturize with Neutrogena Illuminating Facial Moisturizer- this also has SPF
Apply makeup as needed.

Evening: Remove makeup and wash face with makeup remover and water.
Apply moisturizer (same one as before)

Step two: Protect your skin from the sun!
God only gave you one face, and one template on it. It's up to you to take care of it!
Develop a habit of applying sunscreen to your face- and any other exposed skin- before leaving the house. If you find that it's hard to remember, try a moisturizer with at least 15 SPF in it.

Makeup- With your new beauty routine, hopefully you've noticed that your face looks and feels its best. If you're still unhappy with your appearance, then a little makeup in the right places can make a world of difference. A dab of concealer under your eyes and a little around your nose, plus mascara, is all the makeup a teenage girl needs most of the time.

Of course I could be wrong. The point of wearing makeup is to accentuate your features and boost your self-confidence. If wearing more makeup or less makeup helps you stay confident, do it!

Spring Break!

Spring break is finally here! Well, not really. I still have a LOT to do before school again on Tuesday, but it'll be slow. I've enjoyed track so far (just started this week), bu after doing leg lifts for HOURS last night ice-skating wasn't much fun this morning. I'm beat, and I have just two words for you today. NAP. TIME!!!
